When a Narcissist is in Power: 7 things that happen & 6 things you can do

Image
If you grew up with one or two narcissistic parents, then one of the biggest “OMG not again” experiences you can have is to end up in a workplace, social group (or country!) that has a narcissist in charge. You thought you made it out, and now you’re “back there”. You find yourself slipping back into old, familiar, claustrophobic patterns of panic and people pleasing. You know exactly what to do to “make it work”. Simultaneously, you hate yourself. As a kid you told yourself that as a grown-up you’d be able to move on. You wouldn’t have to deal with this ever again. You’d be your own person, in charge of your own life. Yet, the irony is that, since narcissists love love love having power over others, and they will aggressively fight for what they want, many DO end up in positions of power. You might walk into a room one day and find that the leader you’re introduced to makes your stomach turn in very old and very familiar ways (and it’s not because ...

If You Love A Narcissist, THESE 3 Things Will Make Them Happy

Image
Do you think you've fallen  in love with a narcissist  but aren't sure? Does he or she think  they're the center of the universe ? Are they arrogant, insensitive, self-centered, self-important, manipulative and full of themselves? Do they lack empathy? If the object of your love has a number of those characteristics, then you probably love a narcissist. Your best plan of action is to disengage yourself from that relationship as quickly as you can. It will end badly;   relationships   with narcissists always do. The main reason that relationships with narcissists rarely last is because narcissists in romantic relationships depend on extrinsic traits. Most long-term relationships are built on intrinsic qualities — warmth, loyalty, and trust — but not so for the narcissists; they're all about their image and they want their partner to be someone who makes  them  look good. A recent study...

7 Reasons Why I'm Happier As A Vegetarian

Image
As a kid, meat was a staple in my diet. I couldn't wait to get my hands on a hamburger or some chicken fingers. By the time I reached High School I started cooking my own meals and researching new recipes and found that most of them only consisted of vegetable dishes. Ever since I finally declared myself as a vegetarian (yes, declared because it was a very big decision), I found myself consistently happy. Being a vegetarian makes me more creative. Have you ever tried to make black bean quinoa burgers or nuggets out of vital wheat-gluten? Being a vegetarian has made me more willing to try new things and experiment with my tastebuds. Eating vegetarian makes me conscious of where my food is coming from. Most people who become vegetarians, become vegetarians because of the cruelty in the meat industry, but why should you stop there? I am more likely to check nutritional labels, and I try to purchase cage-free eggs and look to buy my vegetables from farmers markets. I h...

THE 7 THINGS NARCISSISTS ARE MOST AFRAID OF.

Image
I was actually going to try to post funny search terms again, but alas, they were just not funny, so I nixed that idea.  However, I did find one that inspired me to write this post: what 6 things are narcissist most scared of It’s a good question.  Are narcissists afraid of anything? You bet they are, and there are 7 things that scare them silly, not just 6. 1. Abandonment and rejection. Narcissists can’t stand being rejected or abandoned.   That’s why they fly into rages and punish and threaten you if you threaten to leave them, and love bomb you if you do manage to get away.  To reject a narcissist means you are rejecting the false self they have so carefully constructed to impress you.  To reject that false self negates their entire reason for existing, since whatever true self they may have left is completely inaccessible to them and the false self cannot survive on its own; it’s completely dependent on the approval and attention of others, who ...

CDC forced to release documents showing they Knew Vaccine Preservative Causes Autism.

Image
PhD Scientist and Biochemist Reveals Hidden CDC Documents Showing Thimerosal In Vaccines Increase Neurologic Disorders The CDC has been shunning the correlations between thimerosal and neurological disorders for a very long time. Although the FDA gave a two year deadline to remove the mercury based preservative from vaccines after the neurotoxin was banned in 1999, it still remains to this day in 60 percent of flu vaccines. A vaccine industry watchdog has now obtained CDC documents that show statistically significant risks of autism associated with the vaccine preservative, something the CDC denies even when confronted with their own data . For nearly ten years, Brian Hooker has been requesting documents that are kept under tight wraps by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). His more than 100 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests have resulted in copious evidence that the vaccine preservative Thimerosal, which is still used in the flu shot that is admin...

6 Things You Should Know About Autoimmune Diseases

Image
As if living with chronic illness wasn’t challenging enough, living with an autoimmune disease can be even more difficult. Still highly misunderstood by medical professionals and the public alike, autoimmune diseases are characterized by nebulous symptoms that can make diagnoses difficult to come by. Treatments vary, and in some cases rely entirely on behavior changes. In an effort to making living with — or loving someone with — an autoimmune disease just a little bit easier, here are seven important things to know about these health conditions. 1. Autoimmune diseases essentially cause a person’s body to fight itself. We all have an immune system, comprised of the cells and organs that fight off germs and other foreign invaders. In a healthy person, the body immediately understands the difference between cells that are your own and therefore safe and cells that are foreign and need fighting off. In people with an autoimmune disease, the immune system is flawed in...

Is Going Raw REALLY Healthy? Raw vs. Regular Vegan

Image
About a year into my vegan journey I began to wonder, what are the health benefits of eating a fully raw diet compared to a regular vegan diet? Are there any? This post is basically what I have learned since that question first started burning in my mind several years ago. But before we get started, let's first clearly define what exactly being a "raw vegan" and a just a "regular vegan" entails.   Regular Vegan: Eats anything that doesn't come from an animal or contain things that have come from an animal.  Practically this includes all plants (fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, seeds and legumes), all processed plant foods (cereals, muesli bars, some fake meats, french fries, falafels etc) and all processed plant and chemical combination foods (Oreos and other sweets, most fake meats, coconut/soy ice creams etc) that don't contain additional animal derived ingredients (milk, whey powder, gelatin, honey etc). Raw Vegan: Eats anything that doe...

How a Vegan Diet Can Help You Lose Weight

Image
People may choose a vegan diet for a variety of reasons, be it for the environment, animal ethics or health. However, some people give the vegan diet a try purely to lose excess weight — and perhaps for good reason. Vegans tend to have lower body mass indexes (BMIs) than the general population, and several studies acknowledge that a vegan diet can promote weight loss (1, 2). Not to mention, a well-planned vegan diet is nutritious, can lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels and may even decrease your risk of certain diseases (3, 4). This article explains how a vegan diet can help you lose weight and shares some tips on how to follow this diet in a healthy way. Studies Show Vegan Diets Cause Weight Loss Observational studies often report vegans to be thinner or to have lower BMIs than the general population (2, 5). In addition, randomized controlled trials, the gold standard in scientific research, show that when all other factors are controlled for, vegan di...
